Interview with Anja Bajc and Anja Bohinc Bojetu
Two Anjas, one vision: Inside Comtrade’s creative approach to partnership and growth
Anja Bohinc Bojetu and Anja Bajc sit down with NEXT.io to share how adaptability fuels their success in building meaningful partnerships in a fast-changing industry.
NEXT: How do you position CG Games to operators who are already flooded with game suppliers?
Anja Bohinc Bojetu: That’s exactly where we thrive. We’re not here to add to the noise — we’re here to create relevance. Our mission is adaptability: we take the operator’s DNA, their audience, and their existing ecosystem, and we design a recipe that creates a long-lasting echo. We don’t just deliver games; we build experiences that fill the gaps — or amplify what’s already working. Think of us as creative alchemists for engagement.
NEXT: What’s the most creative sales pitch you’ve made, and how did the client respond?
Anja Bohinc Bojetu: When I’m asked, “Why are you different? Why should we take your games instead of someone else’s?” I always tell the client: “We don’t sell games — we sell the vision.”
And it’s true. We’re not just a game provider; we’re an IT company that strengthens the operator’s identity. We co-create experiences that build on what’s already there, finding the niches where players feel seen, entertained, and loyal. That resonates deeply with operators because it’s not transactional — it’s collaborative. We co-create a recipe that performs.
NEXT: Crash games have quickly become a hot genre. What has the feedback been like to titles such as Pilot Piggy?
Anja Bohinc Bojetu: Crash games are definitely a hot topic, especially in specific markets. Pilot Piggy has been an incredible journey — we created this adorable, instantly recognizable cartoon character that’s traveled the world with us to shows and conferences, and people genuinely love it.
Crash games, by nature, are simple and direct — a single-player, multiplier mechanic that creates pure excitement and the feeling that the player has some control over the outcome. Pilot Piggy has performed exceptionally well, especially alongside its cousin Crash Soccer in Latin America, where engagement has been remarkable.
Operators appreciate its reliability and strong retention, while players connect with the rhythm and — in the multiplayer version — the social energy it brings. We’ve even expanded the character into a slot game, and moving forward, we’re developing additional titles to deepen the connection with the Pilot Piggy universe.
It’s not just about one game — it’s about storytelling, consistency, and building an emotional relationship that extends far beyond a single title.
NEXT: From your perspective as an account manager, what do operators value most in their ongoing relationship with Comtrade?
Anja Bajc: One of the main benefits they see is the individual-level attention they receive across multiple stages. The most important relationships are with their dedicated project managers and business analysts that we provide to all clients; they ensure the client is getting exactly what they need on an ongoing basis.
My role as an account manager is to ensure that what we are delivering on the technical side meets the needs of the operator from a strategic point of view. I act as a conduit between our technical teams and the client’s operational team.
NEXT: Anja Bajc: What does a “typical” interaction with clients look like, and how do you make sure their feedback is translated into tangible product improvements?
Interaction is happening on almost a daily basis at a project level between both teams. When it comes to client-specific product features, the heavy lifting is done by our dedicated business analyst, who will take a client’s requirements and work with our technical team to meet their business needs.
Each client also benefits from our internal roadmap. I ensure that our clients are aware of new features we have developed, and I also take feedback on potential changes for them.
NEXT: Can you share an example where strong account management directly influenced the success of a client’s project or launch?
Anja Bajc: As we typically work with very large clients, there can sometimes be a disconnect internally between their management and their own operational teams.
We recently had a client who was looking to release some new brands; however, they were blocked by their internal constraints. With strong account management, we were able to bridge that gap, providing guidance and decision-making, and launch several new brands very quickly.
NEXT: The iGaming sector is still male-dominated. What has helped you succeed in this environment, and what advice would you share with women starting out today?
Anja Bohinc Bojetu: “Show me your network, and I’ll tell you how valuable you are.”
For me, this industry isn’t just male- or female-oriented — it’s human-oriented. It’s built on relationships, credibility, and integrity. I’ve been in and around gaming for nearly two decades — from land-based to online, from platform to provider — and the one constant is that your network is everything.
The bridges you build become your foundation. Integrity is the real currency here — what matters most is that people trust you.
Yes, sometimes being a woman can open certain doors, and other times it can close them. But ultimately, we’re all humans navigating the same ecosystem.
My approach has always been to find the human bridge — to connect authentically, communicate clearly, and create partnerships that last. Sustainable success always comes from collaboration.
My advice to anyone starting out: stay curious, stay consistent, and never trade integrity for opportunity. The right doors open when your values and your voice align.
Anja Bajc: For me, success is definitely an ongoing journey rather than a destination. When I look back to when I first started, I had zero knowledge but tones of enthusiasm. That knowledge has increased steadily, and with that knowledge comes confidence. My advice would be, don’t be afraid of a lack of experience; people want you to succeed, and the right attitude combined with a strong work ethic will always go a long way.
Choosing the right company is also a big part of your own success; I am fortunate that Comtrade Gaming is a big promoter of women.
ANJA BOHINC BOJETU, Sales @ CG Games: With nearly two decades across land-based, online gaming, and the entertainment industry, Anja Bohinc Bojetu has led commercial and operational growth for global brands including Interblock, Oryx/Bragg, and IGT PlayDigital. In this position, she focuses on nurturing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and helping businesses maximize their potential and performance.
