Ct gaming quote post 1_gabriela sb.

In this edition of Team Talk, we sat down with Gabriela Sverzut Bračič, one of our Account Managers at Comtrade Gaming, whose career journey is anything but conventional. With a background in psychology, international experience, and life between Brazil and Slovenia, Gabriela brings a unique perspective to relationship building in the fast-paced world of iGaming.

From navigating a global industry as a woman to adapting to life and work in Slovenia, Gabriela shares how psychology, communication, and cultural understanding shape the way she works with partners and approaches new challenges.

1. Your career path is quite unique, especially with a background in psychology. Can you tell us about your journey and what led you to Account Management in the iGaming industry?
My career path has definitely not been traditional. I studied psychology, which helped me better understand people, communication, and behavior. Over time, I realized that what I enjoyed most was building relationships and understanding different perspectives. Once I started at Comtrade Gaming, upper management saw potential in those skills and gave me the opportunity to move into account management.

My psychology background helps me a lot with communication and relationship management. Technical knowledge matters, of course, and my team has played a huge role in helping and teaching me every single day (honestly, that support is what brought me to where I am today). But in my experience, understanding people, listening carefully, and adapting my communication style depending on the person and situation is what truly builds strong partnerships with clients.

2. The iGaming industry is still often seen as male dominated. What has your experience as a woman in the industry been like so far?
The industry is still male dominated in many ways, but honestly, my experience has been very positive, and a huge part of that is the people around me.

My colleagues at Comtrade Gaming give me space to speak, think, and act independently, and they genuinely value my ideas. When needed, they also support and defend me and having that kind of environment gives me a lot of confidence professionally. With them, I learned that confidence is less about knowing everything and more about being open to learning, adapting, and trusting yourself.

I’m also part of AMIG – Association of Women in the Gaming Industry, which has been incredibly inspiring. Being surrounded by strong women, and by men who actively support women as well, reminds me how important it is to create inclusive spaces where people can grow together.

3. You moved to Slovenia and built both your personal and professional life here. What has that journey been like for you?
Moving to Slovenia was one of the biggest changes of my life. A new country, new language, new culture, was definitely a challenge at times, but also one of the best decisions I’ve made. Living abroad also teaches you flexibility very quickly. You learn how to adapt, laugh at yourself sometimes, and become comfortable with being uncomfortable.

What surprised me most is the quality of life here. Everything feels very close to nature, peaceful, and organized. In Brazil, people are usually very open immediately, while in Slovenia people can seem more reserved at first, but once you build relationships, they’re very genuine and strong.

4. As an Account Manager, building strong relationships is a key part of your role. What makes a successful partnership between a client and a company like Comtrade Gaming?
I think successful partnerships come down to trust, transparency, and communication. Clients want to feel heard and supported. A big part of account management is understanding what the client needs, sometimes even before they say it directly. Soft skills like empathy, adaptability, and staying calm under pressure make a huge difference in building long-term relationships.

And honestly, having a great product makes everything easier. At Comtrade Gaming, we deliver a level of quality that genuinely exceeds clients’ expectations and keeps them happy, which naturally makes my job a lot easier when building strong and lasting partnerships.

5. Looking ahead, what motivates you professionally, and what advice would you give to women considering a career in international business or iGaming?
What motivates me most is growth. Learning new things, meeting different people, and constantly challenging myself. I really enjoy international environments because you’re always exposed to new perspectives and different cultures.

For women considering a career in international business or iGaming, I’d say: don’t wait until you feel completely ready. Most of the time, confidence comes after you take the leap, not before. Entering a completely new industry, or even moving to another country, pushes you outside your comfort zone, but that’s also where you grow the most. It can feel scary at first, but usually those are the experiences that shape you the most.

Gabriela’s story shows that career paths do not always follow a straight line. From studying psychology to building partnerships in the global iGaming industry, her journey highlights the value of curiosity, adaptability, and strong communication.

Whether navigating cultural differences, building trust with clients, or stepping outside her comfort zone to start a new life in another country, Gabriela continues to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Her experience reminds us that success is not only built on technical knowledge, but also on understanding people, creating meaningful relationships, and staying open to new perspectives.
